Managing your business account

How business admins set up encryption keys, manage folders, roles, and control team access in DynoLocker.

Personal account setup is covered in the User Guide

2FA, passkey registration, and folder unlocking work the same for both admins and users. Please refer to the User Guide for those steps. Generating your business's encryption key (below) is an admin-only, one-time step.

1
Required once, for new businesses only

Generate your business encryption key

Every new business must generate and verify an encryption key before folders, credentials, or team access can be used. If your business already has a key configured, skip this step; it does not need to be repeated.

1
Open Business SettingsShows your Encryption security card. If no key has been generated yet, you will see a "Business encryption incomplete" banner blocking other actions until this is resolved.
2
Select "Generate encryption key"Creates a 12-word recovery phrase unique to your business and begins the setup flow: Generate → Save phrase → Confirm → Verify → Done.
3
Copy or write down the 12-word phraseThe phrase is shown only once and briefly auto-hides for security. You must copy or record it while visible — you cannot proceed without confirming you've saved it.
4
Confirm the phraseRe-enter the words as prompted to confirm you've recorded them correctly.
5
VerifyA final check to confirm the key is correctly set up and stored.
6
DoneYour business encryption key is now active. The setup banner clears and folders, credentials, and team access become available.
⚠ This phrase cannot be recovered later

If lost, your business's encrypted data cannot be recovered. Store it somewhere safe.

2

Folders hold your credentials and can be nested under other folders. Roles and users are given access at the folder level.

4
Choose a parent folder (optional)Nest this folder under an existing one, or leave it blank to create a top-level folder.

5
Select "Create"The credential is encrypted and added to the folder.
4

Create a role

2
Enter full name, email, phone number, and passwordThe password must be at least 6 characters — this is what the user logs in with.
